	Forms of the Imperfect Subjunctive
	There are two imperfect subjunctive conjugations, -ra and -se forms. The -ra forms are much more common and should be learned first.
	Derivation of -ra forms All verbs derive their imperfect subjunctive forms by deleting the -on from the third person plural of the preterite and adding the endings -a, -as, -a, -amos, -ais, -an. The nosotros form of all verbs is stressed on the third-to-last syllable, and so bears an accent. No other imperfect subjunctive form requires an accent.

	Derivation of -se forms In any imperfect subjunctive form, replace -ra with -se: hablara→hablase; aprendieran→aprendiesen; fuéramos→fuésemos, etc.
